The Illusion of Fitness!

-‘The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but building on the new.” – Socrates

-“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” – George Bernard Shaw

-“Change is inevitable. Progress is optional.” – Tony Robbins

-“Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.” – Robin Sharma

A conversation I hear from time to time and actually one I used to be part of was the “I go to the gym, therefore I am in shape.” This brings me to the “Illusion of Fitness” conversation. Whenever a client says thank you to me I always reply with this. I tell them I did nothing but show them how to achieve. The truth is the client was the one that made the choice to show up and do the work I put in front of them. It is the clients who sweats and pushes themselves, and has made the choice to be better. The client decides to eat an apple instead of that sugar filled cupcake. My point is the client is doing all the work.

If you want the change then YOU need to put in the work. No one can do it for you. Embrace the challenge, embrace the change you want to be, and turn the “Illusion of Fitness” into a reality. Nothing AWESOME comes easy and that is an absolute fact. It takes hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and a change in behavior.

With the New Year right around the corner, many are starting to think about resolutions and plans for 2017. It really is amazing what can happen in a year if you put your mind to it. Next week I will discuss a few things that I have found to be successful.

Have a great week and stay focused.  And remember, you should practice this everyday, but especially this time of year…”Be AWESOME!”  You would be surprised how many people can use it.
